Chief Regulatory Officer

Cape Cod’s regional planning and regulatory agency has an opening on its management team to lead its regulatory program. Supervise a staff of three professionals, coordinate with technical and planning staff and work with Commission members in the regulatory review process.

The position requires knowledge of State and local land use legislation, procedures, codes and standards, thorough knowledge of the Cape Cod Commission Act and Massachusetts General Laws, Chapters 40A and 41; superior communication, management and organization skills.

Master’s Degree in land use planning, environmental science, public administration or related from an accredited college or university, Law Degree preferred; five to seven years of experience in land use planning and planning controls, at least three years of experience should be in a regulatory and supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Water Resources Analyst

To assist the natural resources program in its efforts to protect and restore the quality of the Cape’s groundwater and surface waters. Multi-task position in a planning, technical assistance and regulatory program including water supply protection, restoration of marine and pond water quality, wastewater, watershed and storm water management.

Position requires a Master’s degree in hydrogeology, environmental science/resource management engineering or related with 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidate should have proven quantitative and communication skills, knowledge of State and Federal groundwater and related environmental laws and regulation; familiarity with Cape Cod a plus.

Transportation Planner

Work collaboratively on a variety of transportation related projects. Determine data collection requirements and methodology, conduct field work, collect and analyze data utilizing GIS and transportation modeling software, and prepare reports and presentations.

Requires superior communication, analytical, quantitative and organizational skills; knowledge of transportation planning principles and practices, relevant land use planning, economic, sociological and environmental impacts of traffic and transportation projects.

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in transportation planning, engineering, land use planning or related and one year of experience, including experience in analytical techniques; Master’s Degree preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
